One of the biggest mistakes people make when it is time to lose weight is start with a Diet.
Diets simply Don't Work!
A while back a friend of mine came to me and asked me for help.You see his weight had
ballooned to 285lbs.I asked him how he felt and it was the first time I saw how depression
and obesity intertwined.He was surprised when I said I would not work with him on a diet.
Eating is so tied to emotion that you can sometimes tell how a person is feeling just by what
they are eating.We eat when we are happy,sad,or meeting with old friends and we eat when
we are lonely.Eating and Emotion goes hand in hand so much so that addressing it when in a
negative state is almost always a recipe for disaster.When a person that loves food is feeling
depressed and we tell them to give up food,you are taking away the last thing that gives them
pleasure.This is where many in the fitness industry make me upset.He was so desperate for a
diet plan that worked,I could have sold him any thing and took the money knowing he would
fail at it and them blame him for failing saying if you would follow the diet it would work.You
cant stop someone from eating it takes a lot of will power and I know he wouldn't follow the
diet.It would be wrong for me to do that and unprofessional.Instead I offered him a plan that
was not just designed to work in theory but took into account that he was a human and not
some lab rat.I told him forget about the diet and just follow a quick exercise routine.I gave him
3 short training routines for the week.He asked for more the next week and I gave it to him.
The end of the second week he said he felt so different emotionally that he was actually starting
to eat different foods more healthy foods.You see when you feel good about your self it is easier
to treat your self right.He made those changes his self and felt proud about his choices and discipline.
Now it is habit forming and he looks forward to the exercise routine.When I last seen him about 4
months ago he weighed about 250lbs and said he never felt better and was looking forward to meeting
his goal and that is 225lbs.I have no doubt he will make it.We can't start with the hardest thing you have
to start with a better outlook,start with feeling happy and proud!The best part is you don't have to love

exercise to start a exercise program as long as it is the right program.This is the right program.

Weight and Resistance training Does NOT Burn FAT Myth #2 EXPOSED!

There are so many myths surrounding weight and resistance training that it's hard to pick just one!
I had a friend who came to me and said that when he was younger he was in great shape but since he
got married (he's 43) and had some kids that his muscle turn to fat and that he was getting fatter faster
and faster and there was nothing he could do because thats what happens when you age.
I had great news for him...
1. Muscle cannot turn to fat EVER! Turning led into gold might be easier.
2. He was getting fatter faster because he had less muscle to feed! It was NOT because of age.
3. I could not only slow, but I could stop and actually reverse the problem!
Did you know that just 1 pound of muscle consumes 100 calories a day? Did you know
that this means a loss of just 3lbs of muscle mass results in 300 calories a day -2100
calories a week-that used to be consumed by muscle to instead be stored as FAT!?
People need to realize muscle consumes calories 24hrs a day.Fat dont do that.
muscle that is lost due to inactivity can be regained with exercise.My friend started
to work out just 7min a day 3x a week and regained 4lbs of muscle in his first month.
His muscles started to consume calories which was burning fat the calories was being

building muscle and consuming calories 24hr a day.2 He was adding muscle mass which required extra calories to simply maintain after
recovery is complete...by the end of the 1st month, he was redirecting 400 calories a day to reclaimed

fitness lie is you need Cardio to lose weight right? WRONG.Let me explain yes cardio does burn
calories like any activity but it is not something that you must do in order to lose weight.People that
hate cardio (running on a treadmill or riding a stationary bike) think they hate exercise.Wrong you hate
having to catch your breath.You hate watching the time hoping it would go by faster, because u hate that
one part of exercise you think u hate to exercise.I had a friend that worked all day and thought he had to
run or walk for 30min to lose weight and was to tired after work to do so.I told him about 7 min workouts
where you use calorie redirection technics.If you not training for a running event ,football,basketball or trying
to last 5 rounds for a mma fight or boxing.Then why train like you are.The question is are you training or trying
